CASE STUDY OF GASTRO INTESTINAL PARASITES IN CATTLE INDONESIA

Madura cattle is one Indonesian local cattle that are widely developed in East Java, especially in Madura Island. Madura cattle have potential to be developed because they are genetically tolerant to hot climates, resistant to various disease, easy to maintain and highly adaptable to low feed quality compared to imported cattle. The study of gastrointestinal parasites in cattle were carried out in three regency such as at Bangkalan Madura, Berau Kalimantan and Riau Sumatra. A total sample of 500 fecal samples from Bangkalan district, 80 fecal sample from Berau, East Kalimantanand 100 samples from Riau Sumatra. Fecal sample were examined using native methods, sedimentation and modified Fullborn’s floatation methods. I will present these results and significant of this investigation.
